Presentation of Water & Sanitation Needs and Vulnerability Assessment (NAVA) Toolkit Developed Under the Regional Cluster Advisor Project
Regional Emergency Coordination Advisor (RECA) Project under the Norwegian Church Aid has assisted Sri Lanka WATSAN sector in various aspect of capacity building in Emergency Water and Sanitation over last couple of years. Ministry of Water Supply & Drainage coordinated these activities with assistance from UNICEF, through Seva Lanka, appointed as national consultants under the RECA Project.
A Needs And Vulnerability Assessment (NAVA) tool kit focusing on Drought, Floods, Landslides and CKD has been developed for understanding the problems and perspectives to deal with water and sanitation in emergencies. Seva Lanka has undertaken real time field testing of this Toolkit during emergencies experienced recently due to floods, droughts and landslides.
Presentation of this tool kit was done at a workshop held on 13th November at the Hector Kobbakaduwa Agrarian Research Institute (HARTI), Colombo 7.
